Excessive sweating injections

Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating that goes beyond what is necessary for the regulation of body temperature. It can significantly impact a person's quality of life and self-esteem.

Fortunately, there are various treatment options available to manage hyperhidrosis effectively. Here are some commonly used treatments and their benefits.

Topical Antiperspirants: Over-the-counter or prescription-strength antiperspirants containing aluminum chloride hexahydrate can help reduce sweating. These products are applied directly to the affected areas and can be effective for mild to moderate hyperhidrosis.

Benefits: Topical antiperspirants are readily available, non-invasive, and can provide relief for many individuals with hyperhidrosis.

Other treatments include iontophoresis, medications and surgery however these treatments either require multiple treatments over time or significant side effects or are reserved for severe cases.

We offer the latest in non-surgical anti-aging techniques. All procedures are performed under medical supervision to ensure your comfort and safety. No referral is required.

We offer injections into the affected areas to block the nerves that stimulate sweating. This treatment is most commonly used for axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating in the armpits). We generally do this treatment for hands (palmar hyperhidrosis), or other affected areas such as forehead or areas of the torso.

How does it work?

A natural, purified protein is injected with a very fine needle into specific areas affected by excess sweating It causes the sweat glands to stop working temporarily. The procedure is extremely effective.

What are the results?

It takes around 3 – 4 days to begin to see the results of the treatment, with the full results apparent after about 2 weeks. The effects of the treatment last for about 3 – 4 months, and in most cases, they can be repeated as required.

Does it hurt?

Most people find the treatment to be reasonably comfortable. Depending on the area to be treated topical anaesthetic cream or local anaesthetic injection may be recommended prior to the anti sweating injections.

Are there any side effects?

In the vast majority of cases there are no side effects and there is no downtime involved. Occasionally, temporary effects such as weakness of nearby muscles or bruising can occur.
