YourSkin Clinic provides secure, convenient telehealth consultations for patients who are unable to attend the clinic in person. Telehealth allows you to consult with your General Practitioner via video or telephone, ensuring continuity of care for your ongoing health needs.

Is telehealth right for your appointment?

Telehealth is suitable for a wide range of medical consultations, including:

  • Reviewing blood test or imaging results.

  • Discussing non-urgent health concerns.

  • Medication reviews and repeat scripts (where appropriate).

  • Obtaining referrals for specialists.

  • Follow-up appointments for chronic disease management.

How to book and prepare

1. Booking Your Appointment

Appointments can be booked through our online booking system or by calling our reception team. Please specify that you would like a "Telehealth Consultation."

2. Preparing for Your Call

  • Privacy: Ensure you are in a quiet, private location where you can speak openly with your doctor.

  • Check Your Tech: If you are having a video consultation, ensure your device is charged, and you have a stable internet connection.

  • Be Ready: Have your Medicare card and a list of any current medications or relevant health notes ready to discuss.

3. During the Consultation

At your scheduled time, your GP will contact you via the number in your patient file. If you experience technical difficulties, our reception team is available to assist you on 02 8021 8200.

Frequently asked questions

  • Medicare rebates may be available for telehealth services. Under current Australian government regulations, a patient must generally have had a face-to-face consultation at our practice within the preceding 12 months to be eligible for these rebates. Please check with our reception team if you have questions regarding your eligibility.

  • Yes. All telehealth consultations are conducted in accordance with Australian Privacy Principles. Your medical records are updated as they would be for an in-person visit, and our digital platforms are secure and encrypted.

  • Yes. Following your consultation, your GP can issue electronic prescriptions or referral letters, which can be sent directly to your phone or email.

  • Telehealth is not suitable for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, or severe injury, please call 000 immediately or attend your nearest hospital emergency department.
